About me

Natural and informal

I am a freelance digital photographer, specialising in natural and informal family portraits in both colour and black and white.

I believe that the key to capturing the best images is to shoot in a relaxed environment in which the whole family is comfortable.

I therefore let you choose the location (usually your own home or garden). With no time contraints, you and your family are left to intereact as naturally as possible and the children in particular feel no pressure to perform.

I act as a silent observer, instinctively capturing the moments as they happen.

My passion

I have had a passion for photography since I was very young and have always been particularly interested in capturing people. My husband Ben, jokes that there are few moments of our family’s life that are not recorded on film.

After a short career as a city lawyer, in 2000 I gave it all up to be at home with my son, giving me more time to do what I really love – photography. My first daughter arrived 2 years later and our family then moved to Singapore where we lived for nearly 4 years. During this time I spent I completed a photography course which inspired me to pursue my interest further. My focus was particularly on portraits of babies and children and with the arrival of my third child I had plenty of willing models.

After returning to the UK in 2006, I completed a digital photography course at the London School of Photography. With the children at school I now have the time to spend doing what I really enjoy – capturing those precious moments which can be shared and enjoyed by whole family for a lifetime.
